Obituary of Charles Schisler Lafferty
Charles "Chuck" Schisler Lafferty, of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. He was 67.
Legacy
Born in Camden, Chuck has been lifelong resident of Williamstown. He graduated from Williamstown High School in 1973 and entered the Coast Guard where he served a four year term. Following his discharge, Chuck returned home and met Clare Kiernan in 1980 at Glassboro State College where he was employed. They were married a short time later in 1983 and their love story has continued for nearly 40 years.
Chuck worked for Glassboro State College for 28 years until his retirement. He will be remembered as a passionate, hard working man who had the right tool for every job. Away from work he enjoyed gardening, fishing, grilling his favorite meal and looking for the next great adventure. Craigs List was one of his favorite hobbies shopping for boats that he could flip. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family
Chuck is the beloved husband of Clare (nee Kiernan); loving father of Chad (Jill), Brendan and Erin Lafferty; cherished grandfather of Jude and Charlie Lafferty; dear brother of Constance Ortlip. Chuck is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews , cousins and friends.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, August 7, 2023 after 10 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp. where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12 Noon. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. In Chuck's memory and at his request that those attending the services dress in your comfortable and casual attire.
