Obituary of Robert Charles Maska
Robert "Bob" Charles Maska, 77, of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Legacy
He was a loving and caring companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education and Fairleigh Dickinson University with his Master's Degree in Human Development. In college, was a co-founder of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; an accomplishment of which he was extremely proud. Bob had an impressive athletic resume to include playing minor league baseball for both the Yankees and the Braves before sustaining a career-ending injury. He was a physical education teacher and head football coach at Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights, NJ. He also taught at Salem Middle School, Cumberland Regional Alternative HS, and Ranch Hope School for Boys as well as serving as a youth advocate, providing guidance and leadership to at-risk and disadvantaged youth. In addition to football, he coached basketball, baseball, and softball in various schools and intramural leagues. He enjoyed playing, watching, and talking about sports, gardening, listening to music, singing, playing guitar, woodworking and cabinet-making. Bob was a consummate storyteller, card-trick performer, and never called or visited his kids or grandkids without at least one joke or riddle readily prepared or a $2 bill in-hand.
Family
He is the beloved companion of 31 years to Linda Boulton. Ex-husband of Lucia Cokos, late JoAnn Maska, and Margaret Maska. Devoted father of the late Robert Maska (Jonna), Anthony Maska (Emily), Jennifer Redner (Joey), Brooke Negron (Mike Lower), Kristy Straub (Jason) and Kacy Louis (Dave). Loving grandfather of Karla, Damian, Nick, Maddie, Grant, Lucia, Lorelei, Zoey, Nettie, William, Karson, Korben, Jasey, Isaiah, Aurora, and Leia. Beloved son of the late Gertrude and Richard Maska. Dear brother of the late Richard Maska (late Lollie) and Trudy Galmin (Damon). He also will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday August 10th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home (Woodbury Location) 34 Hunter Street Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park West Deptford, NJ 08096.
