Obituary of Daniel Joseph Hoy

Daniel Joseph Hoy, "Donut" of Westville Grove section of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.  He was 69.
 
Legacy
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dan graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys, Dan worked for Trailways as a Ticket Agent and in 1973 he married the former Susan Russell. Together they raised two children that completed their family. 
Dan more recently worked for Raymour & Flanigan Furniture  as a driver before joining Holcomb Bus Company as a Bus Aide.
Away from work, Dan enjoyed watching classic movies and spending time with his dog Buddy and cat, Whiskers. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
 
Family
Dan is the beloved husband of Susan (nee Russell); loving father of Melissa Pedrick (Frank) and Jason Hoy; dear brother of Frances Engler (Jeffrey) and the late Victoria, Margaret "Peggy-Jo" & Edward. Dan is the cherished grandfather of Abigail (Byron) Godfrey, Frankie & Nicky and great grandfather of Ayden, Carson & Greyson. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Dan is pre deceased by his parents, Edward & Peggy Hoy and his father in law, Walt Russell.
 
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dan's viewing on Friday, September 29, 2023  at 5:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 7:00PM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by visiting donate.diabettes.org
