Obituary of Donald P Abel

Donald P. Abel Sr., 89, of Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Don was a loving and devoted family man who adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a proud member of the United States Army. Don was a home builder and built homes and commercial properties in the Cherry Hill area. He took great pride in building two custom homes that he and his family enjoyed for many years. He also had a very successful career with Shell Oil and Huntsman. Don loved spending time with his family, especially celebrating the holidays and hosting the family Christmas gathering. Don enjoyed traveling especially to Louisiana and Myrtle Beach, was a life-long member of St. Margaret’s Parish and was a devoted Phillies fan.

He is the beloved husband of Betty Abel (nee Zeringue). Devoted father of 4 children, treasured grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Son of the late Grace and Howard Abel. Dear brother of Betty Layton.

Don’s final wishes were to have a private service with immediate family.
