Obituary of Miriam Ada Miller
Miriam Ada Miller, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was 79.
Legacy
Miriam enjoyed watching football, baseball, movies, going out to eat, and talking politics with her sister’s Peg, and Dianna. She loved her jewelry and would spend hours shopping for the perfect jewelry, clothes, and decorations for her home. She was also a great gift giver, and would come up with the most unique gifts you never knew you needed, but always loved! Miriam grew up in South Jersey and Dayton Beach, Florida before ultimately settling in New Jersey in 1967. She talked a lot about her time in Daytona in her late teens, early 20’s, dancing with friends, meeting the young race car drivers from Daytona Speedway, and Baseball Umpires going through training. Those friendships continued for years, and got her into many Phillies games with her daughter over the years! Mostly Miriam, Peaches to family, loved her daughter Debbie. As a single mother with only one child, she tried the very best she could. In many ways it was the two of them against the world. She put herself through nursing school earning her LPN from Gloucester County Vocational Technical School. She spent her entire career as a nurse working for Camden County Health Services in Blackwood. She retired in 2002. Miriam considered her friends her family and deeply missed the friends that passed before her. I am sure she is excited to be reunited with dear friends Dee, Lola, Edith, Cathy, and Mary, as well as her beloved dogs Andre and Maggie.
Family
Miriam is the beloved mother of Deborah Whittaker, dear sister of Margaret Aveni, Dianna McCollough and the late Edward Crumley; cherished niece of the late Albertus Dreby.
