I’m ready now, to share what Aunt Alicia meant to me. She was everything: Aunt, like a big sister, roommate on Dale Road. When she lived there, she tied my shoes every morning, and gave me short rides to school, in her Navy Camaro. She always let me do her hair and makeup, although she was already gorgeous. She wasn’t even that mad, when I got a round brush stuck in her hair. Though, it was all flat brushes, after that.
We had family dinners on Dale Road, too. And of course, Saturdays were always for deep cleaning the house—even after she got married.
I remember hearing the story, of when she, and Uncle Steve got engaged. He put the ring in her champagne glass!
And oh, her beautiful wedding day, on Dale Road, with her white-horse, and white carriage ride, to St. Hilary’s. What a beautiful day, bride, and bridesmaids.
And when it was time to buy a house, they would work on it all the time.
Then, along came Stephen, first to Dale Road, after he was born, in their powder-blue Toyota Camry.
I babysat him, followed by my Aunt Diana.
She was always working hard, but always had time for family: Stephen, Uncle Steve, then Michael, and his baseball games.
Aunt Alicia also was a gifted caretaker. When I was young, she helped care for GG… Later, when Mommom got sick, she was always there, and got her her last, Vincent’s Pizza cheesesteak, in the hospital.
She was also a caretaker for Poppop. After he lived at her house, she visited him, at his care places.
When Poppop was at his first care residence, Aunt Alicia would bring him to: Friendly’s, spend Christmas parties with him, and even danced with him one time.
They were all three, my favorites. I know that Mommom, Poppop, and Uncle Steve’s, Alice’s parents, will welcome her into heaven.
For sure I will miss her, even though she is at peace with them.
I will miss our lunches downtown at her work: be it slices of pizza, getting lost with Google, laughing, gossiping, and trips to Insomnia Cookies. God, she loved their ice cream sandwiches!!
While we weren’t as close in her last year, I always loved and respected her. No one else could match her beauty, heart, love for God, and sense of carrying on my Mommom’s traditions.
Steve and I will miss her always. She was one in a million!

From the minute that you walked into our door Alicia as a little girl on Naples Street, you became the little sister I never had. So many happy memories growing up on Naples Street with all our friends, to Wildwood days, and then seeing you marrying your love Steve and starting your family. We even got to share a niece together, Melissa! We had so much fun when we went to Florida together. I can go on and on and those memories bring me happiness. You are gone from us now but never from our hearts. I know you are at peace now in heaven with all those that went before you. Love always, Diana

I am deeply saddened to hear of my beautiful cousin’s passing. I want to truly express my condolences to her two sons, husband, and sisters…to her beautiful family. I will always remember the fun times Alicia and I had down the shore, as kids. I thought my cousin was the prettiest girl I had ever met, with her long black hair and big smile. I hoped that I would be just like her when I became a teenager. I will always remember her that way and those wonderful days.

Alicia was a treasure! A very kind and thoughtful strong woman! I will be forever grateful for her and her kind ways. She is suffering no more which she didn’t deserve to be in the first place. Thoughts and prayers for Steve, Stephen, and Michael and her sisters.
With sympathy and much love, Gini Meintel
