I am so saddened to hear of Frankie's passing. My best memories of growing up in National Park all have Frankie in them! Living across the street we did everything together. All day street hockey games, we would walk to the bus stop every morning and bought Wings lacrosse season tickets after high school..
Regrettably, we lost touch after he moved to Florida. After a few years I found myself in WDW for a couple of days and even though it was a long-shot since I had no idea what he did or what park he worked in, I asked every Disney employee I came across if they knew him. It wasn't until our last night there we stopped to watch a parade on Main Street. I spotted him from a good distance (he was easily a foot taller than anyone else in the parade) and could not believe it. I managed to get his attention, we made eye contact and he smiled (that smile!) and off he went.
Frank was always smiling. I never once heard him complain and he never seemed to have a bad day. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone, he was loved by all. I was truly lucky to have him as a friend.
