Obituary of Gloria Macanga
Gloria Macanga (nee Scardigli), of Blackwood, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She was 97.
Legacy
She was born of Italian immigrants in Philadelphia, PA, who established a bakery in South Philadelphia and where she worked as a young girl. She attended Saint Mary Magdalen de Pazzi School and Parish where she married in 1952. Gloria had five children and was involved for many years with Church and School activities. She was an avid fan of Philly Sports Teams and going to the Casino. Gloria loved to cook, bake, crochet, dance and decorate her house for the holidays.
She enjoyed the beach and traveling on Pilgrimages to special places of her faith. Gloria had a vibrant personality, keen sense of humor, and was the life of the party while possessing the biggest heart. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with her family.

Gloria is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Macanga, Sr.; loving mother of Joseph (Carol) Macanga, Jr., Paula (Gary) Gilbert, Mary Ann (John) Guarnere Barbara (Jeffery) Colkers, Donna (Tom) Mandos; devoted grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 12 and great great grandmother of 4; loving sister of the late Philomena Buttari, Dominic Scardigli, Anthony Scardigli, Edward Scardigli Rita Cannuli and Helen Forte.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gloria's viewing on Monday, April 8, 2024 after 10:30 AM in Saints Peter & Paul R. C. Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ where her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria's name may be made to Feed the Children by visiting www.feedthechildren.org
