Betty Anne and I met when we were six. We laughed, sang Love and Marriage as we skipped down the dirt road behind my house. We may have gotten into a little trouble one day and found our Mothers together at our kitchen table drinking coffee with very stern looks on their faces. Something to do with being late and playing in a stream without permission. We would cut through the weeds between our homes and sneak a shortcut through the beer plant to visit each other. We lost touch for a long time and reconnecting without missing a beat. Our conversations would be….do you remember….do you remember…taking her brother up to North Jersey to school, going across Delsea to see mommy Birdy (?), me taking the bus as a child to New Sharon after her family moved, sitting at her dads bar drinking coke. Meeting up in FL a few times. Our last visit in October and we reminisced and talked about the love she had for her family. All the little pieces that make a friendship. Yes, Betty Anne I will always remember my very first friend. Through my tears I send my Love and prayers to Betty Anne’s family and those who love her as I have. God has received an Angel. ❤️
