Obituary of Donna Gail Sawyer

Donna Gail Sawyer (nee Frank) of Turnersville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at the age of 71.

Family

Born to the late Donald Frank and Myra (nee Simpson) on June 28th, 1952 in New Brunswick, NJ. First graduate class of Cherry Hill East in 1970. Donna is the oldest of her four loving siblings, Daryn, Donald (Suzanne), David, and the late Debbie Lizzio. Growing up, Donna met the love of her life a few houses down from her childhood home. Lawrence "Larry" Sawyer became Donna's first love, getting married in 1972 and spending a loving 54 years together. The pair welcomed two wonderful children into their lives, their son Brian (Lauren) and daughter Lawren. As their own children grew up, Donna and Larry were able to experience the joys of becoming grandparents, and even better becoming great-grandparents. Donna became "Nanny" to Sarah Sawyer-Poper, Lorianna Poper, Isabella Sawyer, Kaylie Sawyer, and Brandon Sawyer. Compassionate great-grandmother to Ariel Zippler. Donna enjoyed having her family around her as that was one of the most important pillars in her life. Her compassion and love knew no bounds when it came to family, she even helped raise Sarah to the wonderful woman she is today.

Legacy

Donna loved to spend time at the family home in Wildwood Crest, her hospitable personality made an "open house" rule, that anyone was welcomed to their home. When the family was not in Wildwood Crest, they loved to camp at Parvin State Park, Elk Neck State Park, and Disney World. Donna loved spending time at Disney World, she had a growing Winnie the Pooh collection. In her later years, she could be found at a thrift store or a yard sale, spending time watching different YouTube videos, and staying up to date on her family and friends on Facebook.

Donna will be remembered fondly for her loving, outgoing, and selfless personality.

Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donna's Funeral Mass on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at 11am located at Ss Peter and Paul Church, located at 362 Ganttown Road, Sewell NJ 08080.

Interment will be handled privately by the family.
