Of all the many memories I have of Uncle Gavin, he was smiling in all of them. He was always good to me and I always enjoyed seeing him. I’m praying for my cousins and Aunt Ellen.

This reality is incomprehensible to me. I’m trying to think of all the good memories, to share them here, but right now, all the good is overwhelmed by crushing pain, guilt, and loss of what could have been. The lifeline that was always there, if I needed it, is gone and I feel lost. I’d give anything to go back in time and have you here, now. I love you unconditionally and I hope you knew that. I hope you’re at peace and looking down over us.
