Barbara Cooper

Obituary of Barbara A. Cooper

Barbara A. Cooper (née Bachich), 74, of Sewell, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2024, with her loving family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Legacy
Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Francis (Buzz) and Dorothy (née Weist) Bachich and resided in Willingboro, NJ until she and her family moved to Washington Township in 1989. She is predeceased by her beloved sister Linda Kane and dear brother Francis (Buzzy) Bachich.

Barbara was a strong, loving, caring and gentle daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. With her warm spirit and abundant generosity, she opened her heart to anyone whose path she crossed. She had the keen ability to make anyone in her life feel safe, warm and loved.

She believed families should stick and celebrate together, so her home was always full of people, fun, laughter and love. When in her company not only did you feel loved, but with her sense of humor she could have you laughing in an instant – and she was never hesitant to make her own follies or foibles the reason for the laughter.

Barbara was also a very successful businessperson in the transportation industry, where she spent many years as VP of Pricing for Jevic Transportation, followed by several years as a consultant and lastly as Sr. VP of Administration at Main Line Logistics. She was an exemplary manager and true change agent, always encouraging and coaching those who reported to her to develop, grow and succeed. She did this in the most direct yet gentle manner. She left a lasting imprint on colleagues and friends she met over the years.

The most important thing in life to Barbara was her family. This included immediate family as well as her large extended family. She came to the aid of each one whenever needed without hesitation.

Barbara is survived by the love of her life, John, to whom she was married for 54 years; her loving daughter Amy McMahon (Mike) and son John (Lisa); her grandchildren Jack, Michael, Bill, Jim, and Bart (Olivia) McMahon, Johnny, Kaitlyn, and Sean Cooper, and Olivia Dexter and Ava Johnson and their families; and her dear brother Bill Bachich (Wendy) and sister-in-law Judy Bachich. She also leaves behind her devoted niece Meghan Frazier (Ross); nephews Shaun Kane (Evelyne), Buzz (Cheryl), Chris (Colette), Matt (Kristen) and Evan Bachich; her beloved grand nieces and nephews Brittany, Hailey, Cole, Joey, Nick, Peyton, Christopher and Nate Bachich, Nora Jayne, Ford and Annie Sue Frazier, Lila Lynn Kane; her lifelong friend Sharon Fitzpatrick and all of her cousins and dear friends. All will miss her beyond words.
