Obituary of Mildred L. Robinson

Mildred L. Robinson of Brooklawn, New Jersey, passed away on June 8th, 2024.

Family

Born to the late Dolphis and Verna (nee Frye) Lynn on September 27th in Truman, Arkansas. Millie is the beloved sister to the late Mack Lynn, Milford Lynn, and Elzi Henley. While growing up, Millie's childhood was of humble beginnings. Her parents taught her that if she wanted anything in life, she was going to have to work for it. With Millie's strong personality and yearning for a better life, she moved away from her family to begin working in Memphis at a young age. Millie's perseverance and dedication to achieving the life she wanted led her to move to New Jersey, where she met the love of her life, the late Jacob Robinson (1997). The pair met in 1968 at a social gathering and became inseparable. They were married a year later in 1969 and spent a loving 28 years together. Their lives became fulfilled with being the loving parents of Janice Hull, Michael (Sharon) Robinson, and Ann Helwig. Millie and Jacob's Brooklawn home was filled with laughter, love, and happiness as the couple welcomed their closest friends and family to spend quality time with one another during the holidays or for celebrations. Millie's world became much brighter with the welcoming of her grandchildren Tim (Ruby), Mark (Kristin), Kelly (Bill), Jim (Mary), Mindy (Hank), and Catherine. She was blessed to become the great-grandmother of Billy Jr., Hayden, Emma, Patrick, Wyatt, Jaelin, and Koralyn. Millie loved having the little ones around the house, spending quality time with her grand and great-grandchildren was the highlight of her week. While she loved all of her family, her dearest companion the late Arnie, her dog, was her heart.

Legacy

Millie's work ethic gave her the momentum she needed to go back to school to achieve her GED, as well as going on to receive her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification. Millie worked as an LPN for many years tending to those who were in need. While living in Brooklawn, Millie became a member of The Brooklawn United Methodist Church, as well as The Brooklawn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to craft decorative pillows. Millie showed off her designs at local craft fairs any chance she could get. While at these craft shows, Millie could be found making friends with anyone she met. She had a charismatic personality that pulled the attention of those around her deeming her the family Social Butterfly.

Millie will be remembered fondly by those who loved her as a strong, spunky, and charismatic woman who loved fiercely.
