The thought of Marisa to me always has been of a rainbow.
On so many occasions she would appear in very colorful hair.
It always lightened my spirit. She was such an outgoing person. When God grants me an opportunity to see a rainbow, I will always think of her.

My sweet Marisa, I am not sure I can do this! It breaks me in two knowing you are no longer on this Earth, where we can laugh and have sister talk and just be sisters!! Now I have to make the hardest journey of my life, the journey of facing all of our family and being strong enough to say goodbye! I was older by 13 years, and remember carrying you around like you were my baby!! You loved to call yourself "Reema" and always always wanted to be with your big sister!! I left you when you were 14, and started a life in Missouri! My favorite was when you would come stay for Summers and I will forever cherish our vacation to Branson with just me and you with girls!! I feel like I've missed out on so many family events but I promise that no matter how hard this is gonna be, I will not miss the final celebration of your way too short life! As your sister we will always watch over your Malia as well as keep your memory alive! The day you died a piece of me died with you! Please take that piece to heaven and know that you will always have a part of me with you my dear sister!! I will love you forever here on Earth and I know someday we will be together again!! Oh my God Marisa I don't know where to begin I just know that you tried so hard and you fought the fight! your beautiful baby Malia will always know what a wonderful mother you are to her.... daughter to your mother and father ...sister aunt cousin and friend to so many !
every time I mentioned your name everyone always smiled and had a funny story to share ....you struggled , but like I've always said... you were a warrior!!

Marisa was my best friend and the best Jersey girl I know! I miss hearing her laughter each day and her BEAUTIFUL smile. I've NEVER been more open and completely naked with anybody I could share anything with her and she could understand because of all the things we have in common. Nobody will ever get me the way she did. She was my sister. Her family welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of theirs. I will stay sober not just for my family but for hers and most of all Marisa. I know she's watching over her daughter every day and asked with the Lord BC of her strong faith. I'll miss her singing and her strength to over come obstacles that can't her way, she was so strong. I love her so much and my heart breaks every day not hearing her voice.
