Obituary of Francis D. Carnuccio
Francis D. "Frank" Carnuccio, 74, of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
A true gentleman at heart, Frank was loving, kind-hearted, and selfless. Frank cherished his time with family especially, his beloved wife, Sandy. His devotion to family and his unwavering faith in God guided him throughout his life and provided him peace and comfort. Frank shared his faith with youth by teaching CCD and was also a Eucharistic minister.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Frank was raised in South Jersey and called Williamstown his home for the last 18 years. Frank graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) and received a Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Frank’s passion was teaching. He was a mentor and inspired so many, passing along his passion and thirst for knowledge. Frank retired from the Washington Township School District after 30 fulfilling years which included the distinguished honor of being named “Teacher of the Year”.
When not teaching, Frank filled his time with a variety of other interests. He was a talented actor and a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Frank appeared as an extra in several movies including "Washington Forging a Nation" with Patty Duke, "Mannequin", and “Shooter” as well as many local productions. Another one of Frank’s passions was traveling with Sandy to such places as Venezuela, Yugoslavia, Italy, and California. The annual Carnuccio family reunion in Ocean City, New Jersey was always a special event for Frank.
Frank was the beloved husband of 44 years to Sandy Carnuccio (nee Grasso); devoted son of Adeline “Dolly” (nee Sgrignioli) and the late Frank Carnuccio; loving brother of Larry (Linda) Carnuccio, Mary (Joe) Spagnuola, Joseph (Linda) Carnuccio and Domenic (Mary Ellen) Carnuccio; dear brother-in-law of Tom (Angie) Grasso, Vito Grasso, Nick Grasso, Carmen (Shelagh) Grasso and Chet Bregler; cherished cousin and uncle of many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank’s visitation on Saturday, 11/17/2018, 9:00 – 10:45 AM at the Church of St. Bridget, 125 Church Street, Glassboro, NJ 08028, where the Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Ennichement will be held at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, 515 W. Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank's name to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
