Obituary of Adele A McIver

Adele Anna McIver, 93 years old, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed into heaven Tuesday, December 18, 2018; “where wheelchairs don’t exist”. Adele was born in her home, to Adolph and Sophie Pribush, August 30, 1925, in Linden, New Jersey.  She graduated from Linden High School in 1943 and as you may not know her hobbies were collecting and drawing cartoons and listening to mystery programs. She became a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Saint Michael’s Hospital in 1949. After meeting her sweetheart Kenneth R McIver at a USO dance, they were soon married in 1952. They settled and they lived together in Bloomfield, New Jersey for 43 years; then retired and moved to Woodbury, New Jersey.

She leaves as her legacy:

* 6 nieces and nephews: Alice Mackey, Regina Schraegle, Nancy Borodynko, Edward S. Chornoboy, Joseph E. Pribush Jr. and Martin Pribush.

* She also leaves to cherish her memory 16 great nieces and nephews, and 18 great-great nieces and nephews. We all remember her as an individual who had great perseverance, was a great problem solver, faithful and generous to all.

She was preceded in death by 6 Siblings; Helen, Alfonse, Stanley, Adolph, Joseph and Matilda.

Adele was a Registered Nurse retiring in 1995 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people.  She continued as a Registered Nurse volunteering for another 10 years at Underwood Hospital, Woodbury, New jersey; now Inspira Hospital.
