Obituary of John McGuinness
John B. McGuinness, of Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in the Vineland Veteran's Memorial Home with his beloved family by his side on January 3, 2019. He was aged 69 years.
Legacy
John will be fondly remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He was a humble man with a genuine heart, quick wit and a compassionate soul. John was married to his soulmate and best friend, Kathleen McGuinness and was the proud father to two daughters that he loved more than anything.
John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Military; He worked for Mobil Oil as an Inventory Management Specialist until his retirement in 2004. John spent the next thirteen years as a Funeral Attendant and Ambassador for the McGuinness Funeral Home in Woodbury and Washington Twp.
Away from his work, John enjoyed coaching youth soccer and softball. Since 1995, he has continued to support the Gateway Girls Soccer Team; attending games, running the ball on the sidelines and assisting with Summer League. One of his most treasured honors was being named "12th Man" for his dedication. He was loyal to his Woodbury Heights community by serving on several committees throughout the years. He was a dedicated member of the Washington Twp. Rotary Club; South Jersey Old Timers Baseball Association and volunteered as a greeter at home games for the Philadelphia Phillies. John enjoyed golfing, softball and walking with his dog, Colby. Most of all John enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends creating memories that will now be cherished as his legacy. John will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved this special man.

He is the beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Nee Balsama) McGuinness; loving father of Kimberly A. McGuinness Leary and her husband Jack; Kelly A. McGuinness and her boyfriend, Chris Smith; dear brother of James, Walter (Joan), Michael (Linda) McGuinness and Liam Dillon; cherished grandfather of Emma & Cora Leary, Domenic Pomarico, Christopher & Austin Smith. John is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends that he made along his life's journey.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's viewing 5:00 to 8:30 PM Wednesday and 8:30 to 9:45 AM in Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret R. C. Church, Third Street & Beech Avenues, Woodbury Heights where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to the Pink Clover Foundation, 2192 N.
