Obituary of Ted McCollum, Sr.
Theodore (Ted) R. McCollum, Sr. 88 of Cape May, NJ passed in the comfort of his home on January 13, 2019 with his family by his side.
Born in the small coal town of Burnside, PA and survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (Rorher) of 66 years. Two sons, Theodore, Jr. and Harry W.; two grandsons Theodore III and Harry, Jr.; two granddaughters; Brooke and Kristina, two great grandsons Ryan and Marcus. Son of the late Irvin and Agnes (Price) McCollum of Burnside, PA from a family of 8 children; three brothers, Jack Krebs, Bob and Curt (deceased), four sisters, Florence Krebs, Carolyn Zboda, Nancy Cortes and Jane Galow (deceased).
Theodore was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who enlisted in February 1948–February 1952. He served aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Hanson DDR-832 in Korea. Ted was a lifelong member of VFW Post #6884, National Park, NJ.
Employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglass for 27 years as a maintenance mechanic retiring in 1987.
He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
He also enjoyed being a steady pitcher and quarterback for us and the neighborhood kids.
Farewll Tribute
Visitation will be from 9-11AM on Monday, January 21 at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ with funeral service will be at 11:00. Internment Eglington Cemetery.
