Obituary of George Brown
Brown, George of National Park, formerly of West Deptford, on April 8, 2004. Age 84.
Born in Philadelphia, PA., Mr. Brown moved to the Colonial Manor section of West Deptford in 1944. George served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a machinist for Mobil Oil in Paulsboro for 37 years until his retirement in 1980. George is a former member of the Colonial Manor United Methodist Church, and the former Mayor of West Deptford for 1980 to 1983. Mr. Brown was a Township Committee member from 1966 until 1980, a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #100, Masonic Lodge of Mantua #95 F & AM, Member of the Excelsior Consistency of Collingswood, Past President of West Deptford Senior Citizens, Life Member of the Colonial Manor Fire Department, NJ State League of Municipalities, and a member of Mobil Retirement Associates.
Beloved husband of Katherine nee Johnson. George was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Ethel Mae.
Loving father Donna Maxvitat John , Linda Rubino Tom, Step father of Darla Lombardo Ed, Jack Lynch Carol and Jerry Lynch Patty.
Devoted brother of Jane Teague.
Also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
