Ken Austin posted a condolence

Dear Mrs. Costello,
I know we met at least at one of the SJFF dinners. It was a shock to me as to others to learn of George's sudden passing.
I met George for the first time going down to Brick Landing to tie flies with Ken Steffen a couple of years ago.
I still work for Verizon at Woodbury C.O. and was in the process of getting some of the old timers to sign a Get Well Card. Al Hepp, Andy Waugh, Dave Thomas, Tom Corsin, Bill Wright, Joe Ancharski, Fred Kahler, Harry Gates, and Mike Facemeyer all wanted to be remembered. As for me, George gave me some help with my casting and I will always remember him telling me to practice, practice, practice. Even to sit in a chair at home without the rod and go through the motions.
I do regret not having the chance to go fishing with George but his words will stay with me every time I cast my fly line.
A friend,
Ken Austin

Dear Aunt Ruthie,
I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle George and wanted to send my condolences to you. I have the most wonderful, warmest, loving memories of Uncle George. The times that Bonnie and I would "pop in" to see both of you when we were little girls and Uncle George was always willing to play dolls with us. He was a wonderful man and I will always treasure those times. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My love, Michel Weisgerber Gallafent

Dear Ruth:
I was shocked and surprised to hear of George's death. Aunt Janet and Aunt Evelyn told me the news upon our weekly chats via the phone, and I immediately went onto the internet to see his obituary for myself. Came across the McGuinness funeral home's website where I thought I would send my condolences to you.
I fondly remember how smitten my mom was with George, constantly telling me how "cute he was." He surely was a handsome man, she was right! Also Mabel constantly talking about you both. He was a wonderful person, and well liked I know.
I hope all of the great years and times that you both shared together will help see you through this most difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Joan Hanson
