Obituary of Donna M. Savill

Donna M. Savill, of Sewell, NJ (formerly of Gloucester City) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 18, 2020, she was 67 years old.

Legacy

Donna was a dedicated and highly regarded Special Education teacher at Washington Twp. High School. She recently retired after 32 years of service. She truly enjoyed going to work each day where she was beloved by staff and students alike. Donna was an active member of the staff and felt it was important to be involved in school events, especially those attended by her special needs students.  She could be seen at many dances, sporting events, dance recitals, proms and the annual Senior Trip.

Living life for her family and friends was paramount for Donna. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a loyal friend. She was a truly remarkable woman most known for her kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humor. There was nothing Donna would not do for others. Friends and family knew that she was always there for them. She thoroughly enjoyed spoiling her grandsons. Donna’s compassion went beyond people and extended to animals. If you knew Donna, you also knew of her devotion to her dogs. She especially loved her collies and goldens, but would take in a stray that needed a home.

During her life, Donna shared her talent with others. She was an extraordinary baker. Family and friends looked forward to her homemade pies, specially designed sugar cookies and her incredible cheesecakes. Donna customized her cookies for birthdays, bridal showers, christenings and other family events. Plus, she made the holidays a bit more special by delivering festive trays of her delicious treats to family, friends and neighbors. Donna also was an avid reader. She was often found with a book in her hand and loved sharing and discussing her favorite reads with others.

Family

Beloved wife of 44 years to Gary Chierici; loving mother to Matthew Chierici (Crystal) and Stephen Chierici (Suzi); cherished grandmother of Jackson and Rocco; dear sister of the late Daniel Savill and sister-in-law of Rose Cimperman (Thomas), Mary Thomas (Robert) and Linda Jefferson (Thomas).

Farewell Tribute

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Church of the Holy Family, Sewell  on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 am

Interment will be private at the request of the family.
