I knew the Eggers family really well. Are used to live next-door to them in Audubon. Went to school with them Audubon High school. They were a great loving family. To the Eggers family, so sorry for the loss of your brother Shorty. You will always have fond memories of him and so what I Karl Kurtz.

Very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. A friend and coworker at the Mint. We shared stories of going to Phillies games as far back as the old Connie Mack Stadium. As a boss, Billy was a stand up guy who looked out for his men. My condolences to the family. Rest in Peace Bill.

Mr. Eggers, I can vividly recall your distinctive whistle calling me in from the outfield to finish out a game on the mound, it was always followed by the vocal encouragement "C'mon Matty"; I will hold onto that forever to bring a smile to my face during this difficult time. You have provided Billy and all of us an example on the importance of sacrifice to play a role in our children's lives, especially sports. You always provided us a place to go, and everyone of us were like family. I am honored that you were a part of my life and thank you for your guidance along the way. It won't be easy looking for you across the lot coming back from a fire call to say hello, but I'll still glance over and pretend you are there. Rest easy.
