Joe and I visited mom all through the Covid crisis. Here is a photo of mom in Sept 2020. She was always glad to see us and enjoyed just getting outside to see the grass and hear the birds chirping. She may have had a short memory for the day to day but she loved hearing about her extended family, the Erlton neighborhood kids and my high school and college friends. She couldn't tell us what was for lunch but she knew everyone's name and always remembered something about them. "Tell them all they are in my prayers Kenny" so kids, you were in her prayers and she loved you all.

Kenny,
My condolences to you, too, as I realized I did not mention you by name. And thank you for coming over to our childhood house after dad died. I appreciate your thoughts. One of my college housemates caught up with me and has also felt "the swiftness of time's arrow." I wish all of you a short path to peace, Sheri

I grew up across the street from the Fox boys. It was very easy to be a tomboy with four boys to hang out with pretty much "next door." I have good memories of playing in the yards and in the neighborhood with the younger three. I think Eddie was already investigating dinosaurs at Hopkins Pond or involved with other academic pursuits. Stevie even let me borrow his little red bicycle so I could learn how to ride. Riding a bike was key to exploring the area and heading to Erlton School playground so I was really happy to have learned on that bike. Stevie and I would throw a ball over the telephone wires and play catch until the street lights came on. This was in the days of less homework and just bringing a couple number 2 pencils to take the Iowa tests. When kids could be kids and play! We would often find our moms chatting over tea (back when moms mostly stayed home). I do think my mom put her foot down a bit when she found Donny in our house by himself and investigating the contents of our refrigerator. Haha. Boys! Neighborhood moms would look out for each others kids as we walked to school around the block as we picked up each kid along the way or when we just went from house to house trying to form a baseball team. I played the boardgame of LIFE for the first time at the Fox house. Mrs. Fox was always welcoming and very kind. She will be missed. Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to all, Sheri and family.
