To The O'Laughlin Family - Words can not express my condolences for your incredible loss. Your Mom was such a wonderful, caring and thoughtful person. Your parents were amazing friends to my parents and when I lost them both, your Mom became an important friend to me. I cherished our regular calls and hearing her voice gave me such joy. I was able to speak with her recently, and as always, she shared how much she loved her family. Your Mom always said how blessed she was, but all who knew her were the ones that were truly blessed!

Ellen was such a dear friend to our mother, Rosemary Salmon. I know they are reunited in heaven, and oh what a reunion it must have been! Ellen was everything you needed in a friend. She was kind, a great listener, a great storyteller and loved a good laugh. Her kindness towards everyone she met will be remembered forever. Bless the O'Laughlin family as you mourn the loss of an incredible lady.
Love, John and Suzanne Horan

Someone once wrote: A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. It's filled with moments, sweet and sad with smiles and sometimes tears, with friendships formed and good times shared and laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy of joy, and pride, and pleasure, a living, lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure. Thank you for being my mentor and friend. Blessings and Comfort to your wonderful family as they grieve your passing. Peace to you, Ellen, for a Life Well Lived. Sincerely, Carol and Al Lott

My brother Joe did his usual brilliant job when writing our mother obituary. I just would disagree on a his first sentence. She was not an ordinary woman living an extraordinary life - she was an extraordinary woman elevating an ordinary life. Her life was never what was expected. She was a chemist in an age when few woman we to to higher education. She was a beautiful woman who never took advantage of the power true beauty can wield. She raised six kids without raising her voice as often as this would usually require. She was a true partner in a 57 year marriage while still being like a schoolgirl in love. She exuded love, grace and kindness to her many friends. She volunteered helping others and her church up until her illness made it impossible. She kept a schedule which would tire out the youngest of us. She was a shining example of a life well lived. It is not an exaggeration to say the world is a little less shiny without her in it. Love you Mom, Kathy

Dear O'Laughlin Family:
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I'll always remember Ellen as such a kind and gentle lady, a great lector and a superb scrambled egg chef (from Holy Angels Parish's Thursday morning Koffee Klatch)!
Ellen was so easy to talk to, and her deep faith was apparent to anyone in her company for even a few minutes. May God rest her soul and grant you all strength, peace and comfort as you mourn this great loss. We will all miss her but are happy for her to have reached the other side as such a good and faithful servant of Our Lord, her family and her fellow parishioners.
Sincerely,
Anne Connor & family
