Obituary of Raymond H. McMullen
Raymond H. McMullen, 94, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, with his loving family by his side.
Legacy
A strong willed and jovial man, Ray was devoted to his family. Time spent with family was most important. A good time was had by all as Ray and Midge, the love of his life, cut the rug and danced the jitterbug. He enjoyed trying his luck at the casinos and playing Bingo at Colonial Park.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ray was a longtime resident of Westville, National Park and most recently, Woodbury, New Jersey. He was a proud United States Navy veteran of World War II. Ray was very proud of his Irish heritage, but often proclaimed that he was a proud American. Prior to retiring, Ray was a tugboat captain and docking pilot on the Delaware River for 40 years. Ray was a Mummer all his life and marched on Broad Street into his 80’s and was very involved in the community in clubs such as the VFW, Knights of Columbus and the AOH.

(nee McNulty); loving father of Regina Burow and her husband the late William, Deborah Ball and her husband the late Jim, Colleen Tighe and her husband John and the late Margie McMullen; devoted PopPop of Nicole, Bethann, Heather (Tim), Ray (Molly), Melissa (Chris), Colleen (Stan), Eric (Carol), Jessica (Dave), Regina (Matt), Sean (Victoria) and the late Kevin and Katie, Great PopPop of 24 and Great great PopPop of 1 with another on the way; dear brother of Virginia Zlatkus and the late Cass, Ethel, Edward, May, Doris and Lorraine.
