Obituary of George Colombo
George Colombo, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021. He was 81.
Legacy
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, George married and moved to Washington Township in October of 1970. He retired in 1995 after a 38 year career at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard where he held such titles as marine machinist, shop planner and purchaser.
A loving and kind husband and father, George was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. Although he was quite humble about his own accomplishments, he was proud and would boast about his family. Many cherished memories were made on their family vacations and family gatherings that will bring smiles to his loved ones faces. George was sensitive and would always lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. George and his love of 51 years, Rose Mary enjoyed traveling to destinations such as Las Vegas, Greece, Italy and Hawaii.
In his spare time, you could find George tending to his garden, watching the History channel, especially if it was about World War II and enjoying his favorite meals such as ravioli and mussels in white sauce. George was a member of a bowling league for over 50 years, enjoyed playing cards at the casino and rooting for the Philadelphia sports teams, the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers.
