Obituary of Donna Lee Carini

Donna Lee Carini, 66, of Cape May, New Jersey, passed away with loving family at her side on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. 

 

Legacy

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Donna was a beach girl at heart.  She was an office manager in Cape May and had the perfect job…in the Welcome Center of her favorite beach town Cape May.  Donna was a people person through and through.  They were just drawn to her personality and she knew every untraveled road in town.  She could give you a tour of Cape May in one day that would usually take visitors a week.  Donna enjoyed spending time at the beach collecting sea glass and even in those private moments, people were drawn to her and she made lifelong friends. Donna was also an animal lover and an avid photographer.  She would often be found chasing storms whether it be in the height of a hurricane or the blur of a blizzard, taking photos on the beach. 

Her family was most important.  Nothing was more important than time spent with them.  Her grandson knew Donna’s love of the beach and affectionately called her “Merma”…how special!!  Besides her love of the beach, Donna was also a regular at the local library where she read 39518 books.  When reading became difficult, she would listen to the audiobooks and enjoyed them even more. 

Donna will be remembered as a selfless and compassionate woman who always put others needs before her own.  She will truly be missed by family and friends.  She lived life and it was a life well lived.

 

Family

Beloved mother of Rhiannon Carini; cherished grandmom of Cameron; loving daughter of Elizabeth (nee Muscarnero) and the late Robert Johnson and dear sister of Kimberley (Stephen) Wasilkowich.  Donna is survived by 2 cousins, whom she loved like brothers, and their families; Greg (Lucy) Ridge and their daughters Gabby and Sofia and Steven (Kim) Ridge and their daughters Madison and Courtney.  Donna is also survived by loving and longtime friends who are like family to her.
