Uncle dan, you life is amazing. You lived a meaningful life. Your whole family here in the Philippines love and adore you so much. Thank you for your kindness and generosity Uncle. You are extraordinary, good-natured and selfless person. You never failed to support us, your family and you created a strong bond witn your family here. Thank you so much uncle. I have no idea where to begin. Up until now it hasn't crossed my mind that you are gone, Lolo Dan. Like, its too fast. It's startling and heartbreaking. The loss of one of my life's role models weighs heavily on me. I remember, I was too shy to introduce myself to you when we first met on Facebook Messenger. Until I felt more comfortable talking to you every day.You are greatly missed, Lolo. Your "chika/news," your jokes, your laughs,and most importantly, your nuggets of knowledge(words of wisdom). I've learned a lot by talking to you practically daily and I even listen to Freddie Aguilar's music(because of you). Right now, I'm not sure of how I felt, perhaps it's a combination of happiness and sadness. Happy that you won't have to endure any more anguish on the earth's surface. Sad, because you're gone, I no longer have Lolo Dan to talk to. Lolo, thank you so much for the love and wisdom you left behind. I consider myself really fortunate that we were able to connect even briefly via Facebook messenger. I wish that we will be able to bond personally, in another life may be? For all I could do was wish.
You will never be forgotten and you will always be in our hearts, Lolo Dan. We love you, till we meet again my intelligent, loving and caring Lolo.

Our dad - Rafael Fernandez III - endorsed Uncle Daniel for entry to the Air Force and he was accepted. Rochie and I fondly recall his trips to far flung places like Australia. He brought us back koala stuff bears - with real koala fur. He was always doing that - generous in laughter, love and spirit. When he came to visit, my siblings and I would trip over ourselves rushing to the door, each one of us always wanted to be first to hug him. He will be missed.
